I found “man who measured the clouds” the most compelling, mainly because its perfect example of how we mere mortals approach this crazy infinite universe. Infinite knowledge? start with school. Infinite space? launch a probe. Infinite complexity? Observe patterns. There’s a methodologcal simplicity to the act, even though taken in context of the whole, it seems a futile and negligible gesture. How can he possibly measure all the clouds? Doesn’t matter; he can at least measure one. It’s a start.
